Been Busy - Writing a Novel

I just realized I haven't posted a journal on here in about a year and a half. I still check messages on occasion, I'm just not... active. But I thought I'd at least post something about this.
Since January of this year, I've been writing a novel! I was hesitant to call it that for a while, but now that it's over 50,000 words, I feel it's accurate. I already have cover art and a way to publish it set up and everything.
The novel is, in short, about a girl that turns her kidnapping into an opportunity to become a pirate and kick ass. She meets a mermaid who helps her a great deal, and they end up falling for each other. They get other mermaids and pirates to join them and stir up trouble on the seas.
The novel has focuses on feminism and diversity in particular. Several main characters are POC, several are queer, one is asexual, one transgender, et cetera. However, I realize simply including a 'token' member of these groups is not true diversity (here's looking at you, Glee). I have tried my damnedest to flesh out each character, and definitely left no one as "the lesbian," "the black guy" or anything else. My focus is heavily on the characters (as all writers should, yes...), just as much as the plot. The book's main genres are action/adventure, though heavily relying on fantasy and even some romance as well.
I have plans to release the book for sale through Blurb sometime by the end of this year if all goes well. If anyone wants more information, feel free to check out my Tumblr info page and/or like the official Facebook!

I've done the ten facts thing way too many times so you get really random bullshit this time
1. I fucking LOVE glow sticks. And neon colours. Anything bright, really.
2. As much as I love Korea and Kpop, my interest in the language as of late is practically absolute zero. Japanese, however, I'm all over.
3. I will fight to the death for LGBTQ+ rights. Especially the T as of lately. It's extremely under-represented and seems to get the most hate.
4. I'd love to live (or at least study) in Japan or Korea, but I have a huge fear of leaving my family and friends, so I never actually could.
5. I don't have the faintest idea what I want to do for a career.
6. Related to the above, I think college is bullshit unless you have a valid reason to go. If you have a career in mind, go for it. But people that go just for the sake of furthering their education with no career plan, you're wasting your time. (Hence why I'm taking a gap year while I figure shit out)
7. I don't distinguish internet friends from IRL friends. I don't think you're 'more of a friend' because I know you IRL. It just depends on how well I know you/like you.
8. I adore buying things for other people. Go shopping with me sometime when I have money and this will become obvious very quickly.
9. My only real dream or goal... objective in life is to fall in love with someone who feels the same way back. That's all I want.
10. I worry about other people WAY more than necessary.

Quite a long time. The longer you listen, the easier it is.
7. Which is worse, failing or not trying?
Depends on the situation.
8. What is the one thing you'd most like to change about the world?
Fear of alternative lifestyles. I want people to be accepting of gay marriage, gay adoption, transgenders/transsexuals, people that practice other religions, everything.
9. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing?
More work I enjoy doing.
10. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I don't care if people judge me as it is. I'm doing things as I want already.

tbh something inconspicuous would be cool. Like invisibility, being able to fly... you're probably not supposed to think about it but there would be huge problems if someone caught you. What if like I could translate all languages automatically and basically be the TARDIS but without time travel? AWESOME METHINKS YES.
7.Country that you wish you lived in?
Yep I'm gonna cheap out and say South Korea.

8.If you had two wishes, one for yourself and one for someone else what would they be?
I'd wish for.... ehm... I honestly have no clue. To go to a YG Family Concert or something if I'm not allowed to wish for peace or perfect health for my family/friends or something. For someone else eh... can I ask for my friends to all be happy? All the time? That'd be swell.
9.What is one weird thing that you can do?
Uhhh. I can whistle through my (rolled) tongue? YOU GUYS TELL ME WHAT CAN I DO?
10.If you had to lose one of your five senses, what would you choose and why?
Smell or taste. Like it smell really necessary besides enhancing taste and shit? Meh.
But like taste would be decent to get rid of. Eat healthier food and not have to deal with it tasting like shit. 8D; Then again I couldn't taste good food either so I guess smell.
